THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Fixed-Wing UAV Test Pilot to join Dark River Group, a Ukrainian mil-tech company developing innovative solutions to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for operating UAVs, conducting test flights, and ensuring the technical reliability and safety of flight operations.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
Perform flight operations using fixed-wing UAVs
Conduct full pre-flight preparation of UAVs, including:
mechanical checks
power systems
autopilot
communication systems
GPS and sensors
Monitor UAV technical condition:
before flights
after flights
Participate in:
test flights
calibration flights
validation flights
Identify and document technical issues:
during flights
through post-flight log analysis
Provide feedback to engineers on:
UAV behavior
stability
controllability
Follow safety procedures and internal regulations
Contribute to the creation and update of:
checklists
SOPs
pilot instructions
YOU SHOULD APPLY IF YOU
Have hands-on experience piloting fixed-wing UAVs
Can perform full pre-flight preparation (mechanics, power, autopilot, communication, GPS, sensors)
Understand UAV architecture, including:
autopilot
propulsion system
communication systems
navigation
control surfaces
Have experience working with ArduPilot / iNav:
flight modes
fail-safe systems
Can perform:
manual takeoff and landing
flights in autonomous modes
recovery of UAVs in нестандартних situations
Understand flight safety requirements during operations and testing
Can follow checklists, SOPs, and instructions
