ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced UAV Test Pilot with hands-on fixed-wing UAV experience to join our flight-testing team.
You will conduct test, calibration, and validation flights, prepare aircraft for flight operations, assess UAV behavior and performance, identify technical issues, and provide structured feedback to the engineering team.
This role involves direct work with operational UAV platforms, prototypes, and new technical solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
Practical experience operating fixed-wing UAVs.
Strong understanding of pre-flight preparation and aircraft inspection procedures.
Ability to check mechanical systems, power systems, autopilot, communications, navigation systems, and onboard sensors.
Understanding of fixed-wing UAV architecture, including autopilot, propulsion, communications, navigation, and control surfaces.
Experience working with ArduPilot, iNav, or similar autopilot systems.
Understanding of flight modes, failsafe logic, and basic autopilot configuration.
Confident manual flight skills, including take-off and landing.
Experience operating UAVs in autonomous and assisted flight modes.
Ability to safely control and recover an aircraft during abnormal or emergency situations.
Understanding of flight-test safety procedures and risk management.
Ability to work according to checklists, SOPs, and internal flight procedures.
Basic ability to analyze flight logs and identify abnormal aircraft behavior.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct fixed-wing UAV flight operations.
Perform complete pre-flight preparation and aircraft checks.
Inspect UAV technical condition before and after flights.
Conduct test, calibration, and validation flights.
Participate in field testing of operational aircraft and prototype systems.
Identify and document technical issues during flight operations.
Analyze flight logs and identify potential technical or operational problems.
Provide structured feedback to the engineering team regarding aircraft behavior, stability, controllability, and overall flight performance.
Work closely with engineers and production personnel during aircraft preparation, testing, troubleshooting, and improvement.
Follow flight safety procedures, checklists, and internal operating standards.
Participate in the development and improvement of pilot checklists, SOPs, and operating instructions.
Support validation of new aircraft configurations, components, and technical solutions.
Ensure flight-testing activities are performed safely, consistently, and with a strong focus on technical results.
